What is plastic milling?
Milling is a machining process where material is removed in a controlled manner to create a desired shape. With plastic, this requires specific knowledge: the material reacts differently to heat, speed, and pressure than metal or wood. Incorrect settings result in burrs, deformation, or a rough surface.

At De Kemphaan, we work with 5-axis milling machines. This fifth axis makes it possible to machine complex geometries in a single setup, without moving the workpieces and therefore without the risk of errors due to repositioning.
The result: higher precision, less waste, shorter lead times.
A concrete example: custom electronics case
A client provided us with a standard hard plastic case, the type used to transport and protect sensitive electronics.
Before the contents could be placed inside, precise holes had to be milled at the correct locations in the hard plastic wall for cable entries. Too large, and the seal is incorrect. Too rough, and the finish looks untidy. With our milling machine, the holes were customized, exactly in the right place, with a clean finish.
Afterward, the client could neatly install the electronics and wiring.
