Mobile learning tools for street children: manufacturing of Flag Bags

Manufacturing Flag Bags

Flag Bags in action: mobile learning for children worldwide

Sometimes the power of custom work lies not only in what you create, but especially in where it ends up.

For MobileSchool.org, we handled the manufacturing of the so-called Flag Bags: lightweight, mobile learning tools that help youth workers create safe learning environments on the street for children and young people in vulnerable situations.

Recently, these Flag Bags were used during a training week in Antananarivo, Madagascar. There, 22 youth workers from four organizations gathered to learn how to use the materials in their daily operations.

During that week:

  • the tools were extensively tested, both in the center and in the field
  • participants shared experiences and ideas
  • work was done on the sustainable integration of the methodology into their operations

What is a Flag Bag?

The Flag Bag is designed as a practical and flexible system that:

  • is easy to transport
  • can be set up quickly in various environments
  • supports educational activities without a traditional classroom context

The result? Greater reach, more interaction, and more opportunities for children who would otherwise be left behind.

Custom work with impact

We are proud that our local craftsmanship can contribute to an international social mission. The Flag Bags produced here end up with people who make a difference every day.

And how wonderful it is to see this in practice: in motion, in interaction, in real-life situations.

More than a product

The Flag Bags are part of a broader vision developed by Arnoud Raskin, founder of MobileSchool.org.

His starting point is simple but powerful:
if children cannot go to school, the school must go to them.

From that idea, mobile learning solutions were born that are now used worldwide. The Flag Bag is a contemporary, flexible version of this: compact, quickly deployable, and perfectly tailored to working in a street context.
